Operation Instrutions
In case of fire:
1. Open cabinet door.
2. Open the window directly above PermEscape.
3. Remove screen from the window.
4. Tilt out the PermEscape box containing the escape ladder.
5. Take out the first rung and continue feeding each rung out the window until the ladder is fully extended.
6. Grab the top ladder rung and carefully climb down to safety.

Repacking Instructions
To pack the ladder rungs back into the PermEscape container:
1. Pack the top rung into the bottom of the box making sure the chain is placed to the inside of the rung. The rung must sit flush on the bottom of the box with no chain resting beneath it but to the inside of the rung.
2. Continue stacking one rung at a time on top of each other, making sure to feed the chain to the inside open area of the box.
Important: Be sure the chain is hanging down in the open area of the box so the rungs can sit flush on top of each other with no chain between them.
3. Tilt the metal box back into the wall.
4. Close the cabinet door. |

PROPER SET UP AND USE
1. The load rating when installed properly is 600 lbs and the recommended window opening is 32 inches high and 20 inches wide with a maximum sill depth of 12 inches.
2. Close doors before opening any windows to prevent fire from being drawn into the room.
3. Keep body close to ladder.
4. Unless absolutely necessary do not carry a child when using this ladder.
5. Do not carry pets or miscellaneous objects when using this ladder.
6. Instruct family members to use the escape ladder only when the primary escape path (that is, the main exit) is blocked or unsafe to use.
7. This escape ladder is not a toy or recreational device. Instruct children that the ladder is to be used only in an emergency.
8. For use only in windows that are structurally safe for the intended load.
9. Not recommended for use with storm windows or other windows that do not open to the recommended minimum dimensions (32 inches high and 20 inches wide).
10. Make sure ladder is correct length.
Do not use above 2 or 3 story height.
PE1200 - 12 ft.
PE1500 - 15 ft.
PE1800 - 18 ft.
PE2100 - 21 ft.
11. After assembly, plan and practice drills to ensure that occupants are familiar enough for proper use. This ladder is intended to supplement (not replace) the more important fire protection principles of fire drills, fire extinguishers, etc.
12. The ladder should be periodically inspected for damage, loosening of any assembled items, incorrect assembly, or significant deterioration of the materials of construction.
13. The ladder is designed for one person at a time.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Any internal obstructions that could deter proper use of the ladder must be kept clear of the fire escape or kept at a safe distance.
2. Always check for external obstructions before extending the ladder. Keep exterior clear of any items that may cause improper functioning of the ladder.
3. Do not attempt to use the ladder if the window sill is wider than 12 inches.
Exclusive Limited Lifetime Warranty
PermEscape, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser/user that our fire escape ladder, excluding cabinet door and cabinet door hardware, will be free of manufacturing defects for the life of the product. Damages due to improper installation, maintenance, or misuse are not covered by any warranty.
This LIMITED WARRANTY does not cover deterioration or damage due to vandalism, fire or smoke, water, improper usage, or harmful liquids or fumes. PermEscape, Inc. shall not be responsible for incidental or consequential damages resulting from defective sections or hardware.
PermEscape, Inc. will, at its election, repair or replace a fire escape ladder when PermEscape’s inspection discloses any such defects occurring during a period of normal usage within the time period stated. PermEscape, Inc. is not responsible for removal or installation costs when replacement is required.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND SHALL BE VOID IF DAMAGE WAS DUE TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE OR USE. Some states do not allow limitations on the duration of implied warranties or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation may not apply to you.
